  What’s happened to Reexamine??????????????????

  when the site first went up there was much jubilation and celebrations because of general confidence.

  that it was "untouchable".

  the content of reexamine was second to none and many, including i, used it extensively.

  from an ex jw standpoint, how easily did your feelings change toward guns and/or the possibility of killing someone in self-defense?.

  first thing i'd notice is how the old ones got so much older and how the kids became adults and are taller than me.. next thing i'd notice would be how long and dull the meetings are.. *yawn*.

  I recently visited a KH to measure a couple of table tops for glass (I sell glass for a living). I suppose that the first thing that I noticed was the territory maps due to their proximity to the main entry doors. It was a mid week afternoon so the hall was primarily empty. I didn't visit the majority of the all with the exception of the main cooridor and a side office.

  I think the other thing that I noticed that was absent from all the KH growing up as a child was the copy machine and the fax machine. I would have really been blown away had I seen a desk top PC.

  nobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.

  in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?

  there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

  our new circuit overseer was telling us yesterday that we should be careful that we use scriptures in context, and should always be ready to explain the verse in context if the householder queries our interpretation.

  because some people have claimed that jehovah's witnesses take verses out of context!

  well it strikes me that the society does not set a very good example for the publishers in this regard.

  My vote goes to Proverbs 4:18. I think that we're all well aware of how this is used out of context.

  But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established.(NWT)

  i'm new here and this is the first post i make (i promise that more will come).

  i have been following most of the posts made here quietly for about 4 months and i would like to thank all of you who are called apostates for the well documented and researched material you have presented here.thanks to you i know now the truth about the wt organization and i'm no longer blind and misled.

  i disassociated myself about 2 months ago after 15 years of very "faithful" service to the society.i was regular pioneer for 12 years and an elder for 8 years, i served mainly as the service overeer.my experience was published in the 2 of the society's magazins.. as i was a very zealous and prominent elder in my circuit i zealously promoted the organizational rules and i allowed myself to be fully used by the society to promote those mind controle techniques that now i know hurt those who were my sheep.

  I am terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I too am a parent and cannot begin to imagine the pain that you must be experiencing.

  Hopefully this forum can help you with the healing issues you may need as a result of your involvement with the cult.

  the file is being sent throughout many congregations by email to assist the witnesses with "corrections" for their "revelation" book.

  Worst Thing Youve Done In A Meeting?

  whats the worst thing youve done during a meeting?

  years ago, when i was a bit more wicked/naughty/younger than i am now, i thought i would take some drugs just prior to the meeting to see if it would make things any more interesting.

  it didnt, but at least i enjoyed the kingdom melodies tapping my foot to the beat and bopping my head!!

  Other than masturbating in the bathroom, which I did on several occasions, I would have to say that the worst thing I ever did during a meeting was steeling my mother car and taking it for a joy ride. I was fifteen and didn't even have a drivers permit. I decided to get out for a bit and took my mothers keys from her purse. I told her I was going to the bathroom but in realiaty I took her car out for a high speed cruise through the residential neighborhood that our local KH was situated in.

  Im very fortunate that I didn't kill my self or anyone else considering I had zero experience behind the wheel of a car and the speeds at which I was traveling.
